Update August 2006
The difference one year can make is amazing. In June we were blessed with a baby girl! So I have ceased working full time so I can see to her care. I am continuing to do consulting work for my last employer as well as a few others. I've been very lucky to find companies that can be flexible as I would go stir crazy if I didn't have any work to do.

I'm expanding my coding knowledge more into the Microsoft realm. I've worked with it a couple times before but never as in-depth as Java and other traditional web technologies. Eventually the goal is to get an MS certification.

A Master's degree is still in the plan as well, though it may take a little longer now with the new addition. I'm learning that with children you have to compromise - yet you don't have to give up on your goals. They just take a little longer to achieve.

August 2005
By day I'm an Application Developer, sometimes a.k.a. Information Architect, so my life consists primarily of coding. I work for a telemetry management company and my diverse responsibilities include web development, Flash development, SQL, Java, XML coding - to name a few. The latter two items are related to a billing system integration project of which I'm the lead developer so I get to design some architecture/process flows and help organize project information. Funny how I love to organize projects at work, but hate organizing anything at home. I also work on a lot of graphics for the website and presentations for the executives. I actually end up working for three departments, which while sometimes a little stressful I like the variety and challenge.

I thought about posting my resume - never know who might peruse my website and decide I need a six figure income, but I'll hold off for now. I'm not actively looking for a job, but I'll never pass up a really good career opportunity. My resume does include the following companies though (older to newer): EDS, Verio Inc., Web America Networks, Ericsson, Verizon, SBC Inc., Dynamex, Slingshot and current other which shall go unnamed at this point.

Education wise, I hold a B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin (1999). I studied multimedia in the College of Communication. Interactive design was not a formal program at the time, so I ended up with a degree in Radio-Television-Film. Ok, yeah, I had to watch 'Resevoir Dogs' way too many times for my liking in order to fulfill some basic requirements. Yet I did learn some great stuff on multimedia design and communication in general. I now believe that sometimes the simplest ideas are the ones with the biggest impact. I almost minored in the classics - not as in movies, but as in Latin and Roman history. Numerous semesters of Veni, Vedi, Veci was enough for me though. I'm starting work on my MBA at The University of Texas at Dallas in August 2005 - working full time, school part time. Hopefully I can get through in a couple years, but for any of you waiting to offer me an awesome career opportunity - I need Monday and Wednesday nights for school this semester. Someday I'd like to get a PhD - maybe teach.

While a career in art might be great, you may have already noticed that I have horses. Horses have needs... those needs include a larger income to support their hay/grain habit as well as uncalled for vet visits. Oh, and bright blue polo wraps and beautiful leather bridles. Ok, maybe those are my needs, not theirs, but still...

On the side I do some web development or graphics work for a select few - usually friends. Most of those projects I've quashed lately though due to lack of free time. My latest still ongoing project is for Evan Tate of Tate Farms. Of course I do my own website as well when time is available. I love being creative and would some day like to start my own company - I haven't decided on the exact business though.
